Ashwagandha / Withania somnifera Ashwagandha is a short perennial herbs , which is generally used as a Rasayana for rejuvenating the body . It grows up to 35-70 cm height in dry climate region and entire plant is covered with cut hair and is silvery gray . Its root are stout and fleshy when dry , unbranched , straight and gradually tapering downwards with inner region of root is creamy white in color . .Leaves are simple , ovate , elliptic and dull green .
